Active Recovery

A rest period, typically one day, that involves light exercise at 50-60% capacity, which gives your system the ability to recuperate from a period of more strenuous workouts. Unlike a day of total rest, an “active recovery” day includes some light, cardio exercises which promote blood and other fluids to circulate through the muscles that are recovering, removing waste and providing nutrients at a faster rate than sedentary rest.
